London Super Comic Convention – Meet the Gang!
The inaugural London Super Comic Convention is just one week away now and the excitement is building!
Markosia has a strong presence at the show – come and find us at Booth B18 where you will find that we have a snazzy new look!
Throughout the weekend we will have at least twelve creators, maybe more, signing at the booth on an hourly basis. Come and see the guys and gals behind the books. They will be waiting to talk, sign and sketch their hearts out for you! Here are some of the gang turning up:
Andy Briggs
Andy started writing on movies such as “JUDGE DREDD” and “FREDDY VS JASON” and “FOREVERMAN” for Spiderman creator Stan Lee and legendary producer Robert Evans.
Andy went on to work with Gregory Novac and Bruce Timm on Warner Bros. “AQUAMAN” – while at the same time landing an eight-book deal with Oxford university Press for “HERO.COM” and “VILLAIN.NET”.
He has recently rebooted the classic character TARZAN, with his new book TARZAN: THE GREYSTOKE LEGACY.
Andy has co-written ‘Ritual’ for Markosia and has also written two issues from ‘Kong: King of Skull Island’.
He has many exciting and secret new titles currently in development at Markosia!

Christoff (Christian Rodriguez)
Chilean born compulsive creator established in Spain, who after a successful Public Relations career working with companies like Land Rover, BMW and Coca-Cola, and a thriving producing career organizing events, decided to orient his life to his biggest passion; Comics.
Starting in 2006 a prolific relation with several comic professionals worldwide building different creative teams for his projects, in his quest to make an impact in the Comic Industry.
Creator of The Chili, Co-creator of the critically acclaimed Serpent Wars and co-creator of the upcoming miniseries Friendship Conspiracy and more to come, Christoff is also the Co-Organizer of the International Comic Festival of Navarre and impeller of other projects like the beneficence book to raise funds for the victims of the Chilean earthquake of 2010; Chile: Land of Legends.

Born in Salerno, Italy, D’Elia has been a devourer of comics since he was a small child. That’s why even after earning a law degree, he chose to follow that passion and find work as a professional comic artist. While still a student, he found work as a “ghost penciller” which led him to a position at Editoriale Dardo as a penciller on GORDON LINK. Shortly thereafter he made the move to Star Comics where he worked for several years as a penciller and inker on numerous issues of LAZARUS LEDD as well as an issue of HAMMER. In 2004, D’Elia started working at the Rome based, Aurea Editoriale where he worked on such divers projects as the ASSASSINO and CLAY miniseries as well as issues of JOHN DOE GLI ANNI PERDUTI and UNA PIRAMIDE NEL DESERTO. He also expanded his abilities by working for them as a writer. In the last couple of years, he has worked with many independent U.S. publishing companies including Atlantis Studios (THE LIBRARIAN-Return to King Solomon’s Mines), Superhuman Works (THE GHOST FIGHTER) and AfterBurn Comics (UNIT PRIMES #2). D’Elia has worked on two titles for AAM/Markosia: DISCORD, written by PAUL J. SALAMOFF, and DANGER TOURS written by CHRIS DREIER.

Britt Snyder
Britt Snyder is a veteran of the video game development industry with The Superfun Adventures of Jax being his first graphic novel.
In the video game world, Britt has contributed to such games as Warcraft 3, Diablo 2 expansion set, Downhill Domination, Dragonshard, Empire Earth 2 expansion set, Empire Earth 3, WALL-E, Mass Effect for PC, Deblob, WORD FU for the iphone and Rock Band Greenday.
Britt lives in a quiet suburb of Boston Massachusetts with his wife, daughter and two cats.
In addition to his comic and game development work, teaches art at Worcester Polytechnic University.

Cy Dethan
Cy Dethan is a British writer who began his comics career in 2006 on the Starship Troopers: Extinction Protocol strip for Mongoose Publishing.
In 2007, Cy was hand-picked to take over the reins of Markosia’s flagship ongoing series, Starship Troopers. He has subsequently written several creator-owned series for Markosia, including Slaughterman’s Creed, The Indifference Engine and White Knuckle.
Cy’s first creator-owned book, Cancertown: An Inconvenient Tooth, was a major independent hit, and a sequel, Cancertown: Blasphemous Tumours, was announced by Markosia in 2011.
Recently, he has joined the writing team of the Unseen Shadows transmedia project. Before turning to comics, Cy was an award-winning freelance copywriter and editor. Prior to that he was a professional magician and, quite frankly, he’d rather not talk about that…

JL Straw is a partner in Hayena Studios and an Art Editor at Medikidz.
Having drawn all her life and taken influence from films, game, cartoon and comics in 2007 she turned her talent to being a comic book creator and in 2010 her first graphic novel was published by Markosia, The Young Sherlock Holmes Adventures.
She is currently working on several new projects, including the sequel to the highly acclaimed Dark Mists.

Nigel Dobbyn
Nigel Dobbyn has worked in the British comics industry since 1988 on a wide variety of titles such as 2000AD, Sonic the Comic, The Beano and Classical Comics.
Nigel worked on the Markosia title The Chili.
He is currently drawing a graphic novel for Walker Books.

Stephen Downey is a Belfast-based comicbook artist and illustrator. He has worked with Titan publishing, AAM/Markosia, Atomic Diner, Heske Horror, Comic a Gael, Insomnia Publications and Beserker to bring his comics and artwork to the masses.
He is the co-creator of Cancertown: An Inconvenient Tooth and Slaughterman’s Creed (both with Cy Dethan) and has worked on the Torchwood comic strip for Titan magazines.
He draws all day long and loves every minute.

Graeme is an illustrator and comic artist living in Wadhurst East Sussex with his two dogs and very understanding partner Jasmin. When he’s not drawing he’s sleeping and when he’s not sleeping he’s drawing.

Ladies and Gents, as we have announced on many occasions we will be attending the inaugural London Super Comic Convention next month.
We intend it to be the show where we have our strongest ever presence. Stan Lee coming to London next month!
The London Super Comic Convention 2012 will be hitting London’s ExCel Convention Centre on the weekend of February 25th & 26th, 2012…and there’s no better way to launch the UK’s newest and largest American creator driven comic book convention than to have the greatest comic book creator of all time make a special guest appearance.
